DE SOTO

De Soto was an American automobile marque produced by the Chrysler Corporation from 1928 to 1961. Named after the Spanish explorer Hernando de Soto, the brand was introduced during the late 1920s as a mid-range option within Chrysler’s lineup, targeting customers seeking stylish yet affordable vehicles. De Soto cars were known for their innovative designs and engineering, featuring advancements such as the introduction of the first mass-produced hemispherical combustion engine in 1952. Over the years, De Soto gained popularity for its distinctive styling and performance, but ultimately faced declining sales, leading to its cessation in 1961. Today, De Soto is remembered by classic car enthusiasts for its unique contributions to the automotive industry and its place in Chrysler's storied history.
