Bulla Hill Railway - Sunday 21st May 2023
Well, it is not really Mothers Day, but it is close! Why not enjoy a day out with the family at the Bulla Railway as there is something for everyone. The Bulla community will have their regular Bulla Market in the morning while everyone can take a 1.5km ride on the miniature steam or diesel trains in the afternoon.
We will have an area set aside for us to get together for lunch, and the BBQ trailer will be there should you need to char the meat first.
It is BYO so bring your lunch and seating hardware to be comfortable among the crowd, and say thanks to mum for the second week in a row. That is not too much to ask, is it?
The Bulla Bohemian Market is very well attended so we will need to make sure we have an area set aside for us, and hopefully that will include grouping our cars together for our own little display. We will also bring our own shade pergolas but if you can help out there as well then that is sure to be helpful.
********
Parking together is proving to be an issue due to the crowds at the market
however a Council permit has been applied for to use the Bulla Recreation Reserve oval for parking cars and BBQ trailer so we can picnic together on the oval
Access for Club cars onto the oval is from the Green St entry to the Bulla Recreation Reserve
(north of, and past, the market and Bulla Rail and the old tennis courts)
********
Entry to the market will cost you if you cant keep eyes averted or your hands in your pockets, while train rides are priced at a mere $4.
There are reports of dinosaurs in the area, so we will certainly be in our element when we arrive in our Club cars! For more information about the Bulla Hill Railway go to bullahillrailway.org.au
It is located at 15 Green Street, Bulla, Victoria, 3428 in a large parkland area dedicated to community use. It is between Tullamarine (Melbourne) Airport – 8km after and Sunbury – 11km before.
Get there at 10am to enjoy both the Bulla Market in the morning and the railway in the afternoon
This day is also National Motoring Heritage Day which is the day we celebrate our passion for our heritage vehicles and you are encouraged to get your Club car out on the road and let the public share our passion. If you cant join us at Bulla Hill Railway then you might try the AOMC organised events at Trentham or Maffra or the Melbourne Steam Centre on Ferntree Gully Road
